EFD.1 is an electromagnetic inductive wireless charger which supports the Qi standard. Created from scrap mahogany, aluminium and linen for an elegant, classic design; at just 6.95mm thick it's a contemporary take on a new class of electronic device. Inspired by the lack of wireless charging pads made from natural materials — the market is dominated by mass-produced plastic. Metal and wood are traditionally used in high-end, small-batch electronics (e.g. B&O speakers); linen was used as it provides a natural soft touch yet grippy surface for a phone to rest on.
